Kasey and Valentina's Friendship

okay so kasey and valentina were literally inseparable growing up in montreal. they met as kids, did weird science projects together, and explored places they shouldn't have lol. valentina was already messing with portal tech back then (wild right?) and kasey was her biggest hype person—like she believed in her before anyone else took it seriously.

they had this perfect dynamic where valentina was the genius inventor and kasey was just enthusiastically supporting everything. they'd spend hours planning insane projects, and when everyone else thought portals were sci-fi nonsense, kasey actually took it seriously and kept pushing valentina forward. they genuinely got each other too—inside jokes, late night snacks, shared dreams. both wanted to prove themselves to the world, just in different ways.

but then kasey got obsessed with the pocketwatch and conquering everything. it wasn't sudden, but she became way less interested in just hanging with valentina and way more interested in power and being ruthless about it. valentina couldn't keep up with that darkness. by the time valentina realized kasey was willing to hurt people to get what she wanted, they were already broken.

kasey ended up trapped in the theaneb dimension partly because of valentina's choices, and honestly? it's tragic because they couldve been unstoppable together. they just weren't on the same page anymore.
