Kasey Heffley: The Villain Who's Actually Kind of a Victim?

okay so kasey heffley is probably the most interesting bad guy in clover chaos, but honestly? the more you think about it the less she seems like an actual villain. she got stuck in the theaneb dimension and became obsessed with stealing pat's pocketwatch to escape and take over the world or whatever. pretty standard villain stuff on the surface.

but here's the thing: her dad mark literally designed everything in phase 1 and was totally willing to throw kasey under the bus to make himself look better. that's actually dark as hell. so of course she gets obsessed with power and control when her own father treats her like that. plus she's stuck in another dimension away from everyone she knew (including her ex-bestfriend valentina). the pocketwatch becomes about escape, control, and finally getting out from under mark's shadow.

the real question is: is kasey even the villain or just someone whose life got completely destroyed by stuff she couldn't control? she didn't choose to get trapped in theaneb. she didn't choose mark as her dad. by the time phase 1 ends, she's just... stuck. waiting. and honestly that's the whole point of the series—even the enemies are victims too.
